येथील गोपिकाबाई सीताराम गावंडे महाविद्यालयाचे संस्थापक, शिक्षणप्रेमी कै. नारायणराव वानखेडे यांच्या स्मृतिदिनानिमित्त बुधवार दि. ६ ऑगस्ट रोजी वृक्षारोपणाचा कार्यक्रम संपन्न झाला. यवतमाळ जिल्हा अखिल कुणबी समाज संस्थेचे अध्यक्ष व संत गाडगेबाबा अमरावती विद्यापीठाचे सिनेट सदस्य राम देवसरकर, संस्थेचे सचिव डॉ. यादवराव राऊत, तातू देशमुख, दत्तरावजी शिंदे, कल्याणराव राणे, सुभाषराव शिंदे, जगदेवराव देवसरकर, संस्थेचे पदाधिकारी, सदस्य व परिसरातील नागरिक उपस्थित होते.
महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डॉ. माधवराव कदम, उपप्राचार्य डॉ.व्ही. पी. कदम, डॉ. डी. व्ही. तायडे, प्रा. एस. बी. वाघमारे यांच्यासह महाविद्यालयातील प्राध्यापक, कर्मचारी आणि विद्यार्थी उपस्थित होते.
शिक्षणप्रेमी कै. नारायणराव वानखेडे यांच्या प्रतिमेचे पूजन करून विविध प्रकारच्या रोपांची लागवड करण्यात आली. राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजनेचे कार्यक्रम अधिकारी प्रा. डॉ. टी. एम. भगत, प्रा. डॉ. पी. वाय. अनासाने, कनिष्ठ महाविद्यालय राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना कार्यक्रम अधिकारी प्रा.व्ही.बी. कनवाळे आणि राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजनेच्या विद्यार्थ्यांनी कार्यक्रमाच्या यशस्वीतेसाठी परिश्रम घेतले.
