रामदास पाटील सुमठाणकर यांनी 2019 मध्ये पालकत्व स्वीकारलेल्या आंतरराष्ट्रीय दिव्यांग खेळाडू भाग्यश्री माधवराव जाधव हिने कालच पार पडलेल्या चीन येथील हांगझोउ मध्ये आशियाई दीव्यांग स्पर्धा 2023 मधे महिला शॉट पुट -एफ 34 स्पर्धेत रजत( silver medal )पदकावर भारताचे नाव कोरले आहे.
या यशाबद्दल देशाचे पंतप्रधान नरेन्द्र मोदी साहेब तसेच केंद्रिय गृहमंत्री अमित शहा साहेब व केंद्रिय युवक कल्याण व क्रीडा मंत्री शंतनु ठाकूर यांच्या सह अनेक मान्यवरांनी तिच्यावर शुभेच्छांचा वर्षाव करीत अभिनंदन केले आहे.
भाग्यश्री यांच्या दोन्ही पायाला आलेलं अपंगत्व,घरी वडील आजारी,लहान पणापासून काका ने सांभाळ केला पण अचानक काकाच निधन झालं अश्या प्रतिकूल परिस्थितीत जगण्याचा संघर्ष करत तिने आज देशाची मान उंचावली.आपल्या परिस्थितीचा बाऊ न करता ती लढत राहिली आपले ध्येय गाठण्यासाठी.मनात जिद्द असल्यास या जगात कुठलीही गोष्ट अशक्य नाही हे तिने या निमित्ताने जगाला दाखवून दिले.
आपल्या अंगी शारीरिक अपंगत्व असूनही ती कधी खचली नाही.सतत मेहनत करत राहिली कारण तिला जिंकायचं होतं आपल्या देशासाठी.
आपल्या देशाचं नाव ऊंचवण्याच तिचं स्वप्न उराशी बाळगून धेय्या कडे वाटचाल करणारी भाग्यश्री जाधव.
पण प्रवासात भाग्यश्री ला अनेक अडचणी येत होत्या.तिला मदतीची गरज होती.घरचा कोणी कमावता व्यक्ती नसल्याने अर्थिक अडचणींवर मात करण्यासाठी तिची फरफट होत होती.यावेळी हिंगोली नगर परिषदेचे तत्कालीन मुख्यधिकारी श्री.रामदास पाटील सुमठाणकर यांच्याशी संभाजी ब्रिगेड चे बालाजी पाटील सांगवीकर यांनी तिचा संपर्क करून दिला असता. पाटील साहेबांनी तिची विचारपूस करून आधार दिला व तिचे पालकत्व स्वीकारून तिला सर्वतोपरी मदत करण्याचे आश्वासन दिले व ते तत्व पाळले.
रामदास पाटील साहेब स्वतः दिव्यांग असल्याने समाजातील प्रत्येक दिव्यांग बांधव त्यांचा काळजाचा विषय असतो आपल्या परिवारातील सदस्या प्रमाणे ते त्यांना जीव लावतात.
समाजातील दिव्यांग्यापुढे येणार्‍या सामाजिक,मानसिक,कौटुंबिक आणि अर्थिक समस्या याची त्यांना जाणीव आहे.पण या बाबीचे भांडवल करायचं नसत असं सांगून,जो माणुस अस्या व्यथा सोसतो त्याला याची जाण असते.भाग्यश्री ला ते त्यांच्या परिवाराचा घटक समजून तिच्या पाठीशी खंबीरपणे उभा राहिले व तीला आर्थिक सहकार्य करून तिला खंबीरपणेमोठयाभावाप्रमाणेआधार दिला.आज तिच्या यशात खारीचा वाटा असल्याचा त्यांना अभिमान आहे.
त्यावेळी तिला शब्द दिला जे काही जेव्हा केव्हा गरज पडेल हा तुझा वडील बंधू मोठा भाऊ समजून हाक दे.
भाग्यश्री दिव्यांग असली तरी एक महत्वकांक्षी आहे,तिच्या डोळ्यात एक स्वप्न गाठायची आग होती.
ती उद्याच्या भारताचे स्वप्न आहे, हे त्यावेळी जाणले.असे रामदास पाटील साहेबांनी मत व्यक्त केले होते.
चीन येथे सुरु असलेल्या एशियन पॅरा गेम्समध्ये भाग्यश्री जाधव हिने सिल्व्हर मेडल पटकावून,
आज तिने पुन्हा एका विक्रमला गवसणी घातली आणि देशाचं नाव उंचावले.रामदास पाटील साहेबांनी बघितलेले स्वप्न अल्पावधीतच सत्यात उतरले याचा त्यांना गर्व आहे.
