शहरातील आनंद नगर स्थित असलेल्या भारत फायनान्स शाखेमधून सहा लाख 16 हजार 627 रुपयांची रक्कम रात्री दहा ते साडेअकराच्या दरम्यान चोरट्यांनी लॉकर सहित चोरून नेल्याच्या घटनेने उमरखेड शहरात खळबळ उडाली असून भारत फायनान्स च्या शाखेमध्ये व बाहेरील भागात सीसीटीव्ही कॅमेरे बसविण्यात आली होती परंतु चोरट्यांनी पुरावे नष्ट करण्याचे हेतूने सीसीटीव्हीचे संपूर्ण डी वाय एस चोरून नेऊन पुरावे नष्ट करण्याचा प्रयत्न केला अशा प्रकारची तक्रार भारत फायनान्स उमरखेड या शाखेचे शाखा व्यवस्थापक कोंडवा विलास मनमंदे यांनी उमरखेड पोलीस स्टेशनला दिली असून याबाबतीत उमरखेड पोलीस स्टेशनचे पोलीस निरीक्षक शंकर पांचाळ यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली उमरखेड पोलीस पुढील तपास करीत असून शहरातील आनंद नगर भागात असलेल्या या शाखेत कार्यरत एकूण नऊ कर्मचारी असून ही सर्वजण रात्रीचे वेळी जेवण करण्यासाठी शाखेबाहेर शहरात गेले होते आणि हीच संधी चोरट्यांनी साधून तब्बल सहा लाख 16 हजार 627 रुपये रकमेवर अगदी रात्रीचे साडेदहा ते साडेअकरा चे दरम्यान डल्ला मारल्यामुळे सर्वत्र आश्चर्य व्यक्त केल्या जात असून याबाबतीत उमरखेड पोलिसांच्या तपासाकडे शहरातील नागरिकांचे लक्ष लागल्याचे दिसत आहे
