उमरखेड, दि. १४ : हिंगोलीचे खासदार नागेश पाटील आष्टीकर यांनी १४ मार्च रोजी उमरखेड बायपासवर अचानक भेट देऊन वाहनधारकांना विनाकारण अडवून त्रास देणाऱ्या वाहतूक पोलिसांना चांगलेच खडसावले. शहरातील वाहतूक व्यवस्था वाऱ्यावर सोडून महामार्गावर दररोज वसुलीसाठी ठाण मांडणाऱ्या पोलिसांच्या कार्यपद्धतीवर त्यांनी तीव्र संताप व्यक्त करत हा प्रकार तात्काळ थांबवण्याचे आदेश दिले.
उमरखेड शहरालगतच्या नागपूर तुळजापूर राष्ट्रीय महामार्गावर वाहतूक शाखेच्या कर्मचाऱ्यांकडून सातत्याने वाहनांची तपासणी केली जाते. या
तपासणीच्या नावाखाली प्रवाशांना नाहक त्रास देऊन आर्थिक वसुली केली जात असल्याच्या तक्रारी खासदारांकडे प्राप्त झाल्या होत्या. या तक्रारींची सत्यता पडताळण्यासाठी खासदार आष्टीकर यांनी स्वतः आपले वाहन महामार्गावर थांबवून तेथील परिस्थितीची पाहणी केली. पाहणीदरम्यान त्यांना धक्कादायक वास्तव दिसून आले. शहरांतर्गत
सुरळीत एक-दोन वाहतूक व्यवस्था करण्यासाठी केवळ कर्मचारी असताना, महामार्गावर मात्र सात-आठ कर्मचारी वाहनांची अडवणूक करत होते. यामुळे महामार्गावर विनाकारण वाहतुकीची कोंडी होत असल्याचे पाहून खासदारांचा पारा चढला. त्यांनी घटनास्थळावरूनच वाहतूक शाखेचे सहाय्यक पोलीस निरीक्षक अमोल
गुंडे यांच्याशी भ्रमणध्वनीवरून संपर्क साधला आणि संताप व्यक्त केला. “शहरातील मुख्य चौक रहदारीने कोंडलेले असताना तुमचे कर्मचारी महामार्गावर काय करत आहेत ?” असा सवाल त्यांनी उपस्थित केला. तसेच, तपासणीची मोहीम राबवायची असेल तर ती आठवड्यातून एकदा असावी, मात्र दररोज महामार्गावर प्रवाशांना वेठीस धरू नका, असे स्पष्ट निर्देश दिले. “उद्यापासून महामार्गावर गाड्या अडवणे बंद करा,” असा इशारा देताच उपस्थित कर्मचाऱ्यांची भंबेरी उडाली. खासदारांच्या या आक्रमक भूमिकेचा व्हिडिओ सोशल मीडियावर मोठ्या प्रमाणात व्हायरल होत असून, वाहनधारकांनी या धाडसी पावलाचे स्वागत केले आहे.
